Prediction markets are not a savings account. A losing event contract can cost the entire amount paid, and fees increase the cost of participating. A high implied probability is not a guarantee of a payout.
Before trading, decide what you can afford to lose without affecting rent, bills, debt payments or savings you need. Avoid borrowing to trade. Set limits on both spending and time, and review your activity using total deposits, withdrawals and costs rather than a few memorable wins.
Warning signs include chasing losses, repeatedly raising limits, hiding your activity, using essential money or finding it difficult to stop. You do not have to wait for a crisis before seeking support. Taking a break and using available platform restrictions can help create distance from trading.
In the United States, the National Council on Problem Gambling lists call and text support at 1-800-MY-RESET and an online chat. Its official help page also links to resources by state. Contact information checked on 15 September 2026.
Outside the United States, use a local health service or a national problem-gambling support organisation. If there is immediate danger, contact your local emergency service. PredictHub is not a counselling or emergency service.
Play-money exercises can explain contract mechanics without a cash stake, but they do not demonstrate that a real-money strategy will be profitable. Read play-money versus real-money markets before treating the two as interchangeable.
