The Polymarket leaderboard: what it shows and how to read it
Polymarket ranks its traders by profit or volume over a day, a week, a month or all time. The figures are public, the same data is available free through its API, and the ranking has limits worth knowing before you copy anyone on it.
In one minute
- polymarket.com/leaderboard ranks traders by profit/loss or volume: today, weekly, monthly or all time.
- Separate boards cover predictions, perpetuals and combos, by category.
- The same rankings come free from the Data API, up to 1,000 rows, with no key.
- Names are display names or pseudonyms over wallet addresses, and trades stay on-chain.
What the Polymarket leaderboard shows
The leaderboard (read 26 October 2026) has tabs for predictions, perps and combos, time windows of today, weekly, monthly and all, a category filter, and two rankings: profit/loss and volume. It shows the top 20, a “biggest wins” list, and a box to search for a trader by name.
Each trader appears under a name they chose or a pseudonym Polymarket generated, with a public profile tied to their wallet address, and in some cases a linked X account or a verified badge.
How profit is counted — and where Polymarket’s pages differ
The website’s note says profit/loss on the leaderboard includes only realised gains and losses, not open positions. Polymarket’s API documentation is more precise and partly different: the all-time ranking is realised profit, but the day, week and month windows track the change in marked equity, so they move with the value of open positions. Volume is counted in shares, not dollars.
Either way, a high place on a short window can be one large open bet marked up, not a record of skill — and a ranking by profit says nothing about how much was risked to make it.
Getting leaderboard data through the API
The trader leaderboard endpoint (GET data-api.polymarket.com/v2/leaderboard) needs no authentication. Its parameters set the window (day, week, month or all), the category, the ranking (profit or volume) and up to 1,000 rows per page; adding a wallet address returns that trader’s ranks, where 0 means unranked. Each row gives the rank, wallet, profit, volume, display name, X username and verified status. The official SDKs wrap it, alongside related endpoints for positions, profit history and the biggest winners. How to call it is in the Polymarket API.
Privacy: can you stay off it?
Polymarket documents no way to opt out of the leaderboard. You can choose a display name instead of using your own, and its profile data includes a setting for whether a username is shown publicly. But trades on polymarket.com settle on a public blockchain: Polymarket’s help centre says that even after you delete your account, “your past transaction history will remain visible on-chain”. Polymarket US, a separate app for US residents, creates a username automatically and lets you change it in settings; we found no leaderboard documented for it.

Common questions
How does the Polymarket leaderboard work?+
It ranks traders by profit/loss or by volume over today, the week, the month or all time, with separate boards for predictions, perps and combos and a category filter. The all-time ranking uses realised profit; Polymarket’s API docs say the shorter windows also reflect open positions.
Is the Polymarket leaderboard public?+
Yes. Anyone can view it at polymarket.com/leaderboard, and the same data is available without a key from Polymarket’s Data API.
Can I hide from the Polymarket leaderboard?+
Polymarket documents no opt-out. You can trade under a display name or pseudonym rather than your own name, but your wallet’s trades remain visible on-chain, even after account deletion.
Does Polymarket have a leaderboard API?+
Yes: GET data-api.polymarket.com/v2/leaderboard, which needs no authentication and returns up to 1,000 traders per page by profit or volume, for a day, week, month or all time.
