How to withdraw money from Kalshi
Open Transfers, choose “Withdraw from Kalshi”, pick a method and confirm. Debit cards are usually fastest, bank transfers take a few business days, and only settled cash can leave — not money in open positions or still under a deposit hold.
In one minute
- Transfers → Withdraw from Kalshi → choose the method → confirm.
- Debit card: usually within a few hours. Crypto: about 30 minutes. Bank: a few business days.
- Kalshi charges no withdrawal fee on any method.
- Only cash can be withdrawn: sell a position first, and wait out any deposit hold.
Step by step
Kalshi gives the same steps for a debit card, a bank account or a crypto wallet:
- Open the Transfers tab (kalshi.com/account/banking on the web).
- Select “Withdraw from Kalshi”.
- Choose Debit Card, Bank Transfer or Crypto — or PayPal or Venmo if linked.
- Pick the card, account or wallet, enter the amount and complete the transaction.
PayPal and Venmo appear as withdrawal options only once you have linked the account through the deposit page — linking does not require a deposit.

Times are Kalshi’s own, from the method pages linked above and its transfers FAQ. A debit-card payout can be held for a payment processor’s compliance review, which Kalshi says typically takes 3–5 business days. A crypto withdrawal may need document verification. Kalshi sets a daily withdrawal limit per account that rises with activity, and publishes no figure.
Why you can’t withdraw your whole balance
Only money Kalshi classes as cash can be withdrawn. Three things keep part of a balance back:
- Open positions. Money in a contract is not cash until you sell it or it settles; Kalshi says most markets settle within a few hours of the outcome being known.
- Deposit holds. A debit-card or bank deposit can go back out the same way once it settles; to a different method, up to 2 days after settlement. Bank deposits typically settle within 5 business days. PayPal, Venmo, crypto and wire deposits carry no hold, and profits above what you deposited can be withdrawn once settled.
- Credits. Promotional credits cannot be withdrawn directly, and referral credits may come with withdrawal restrictions.
Withdrawals go only to accounts in your own name. You do not need to have given your Social Security number to withdraw by a non-crypto method, according to Kalshi’s SSN page, though Kalshi may restrict some account functions until identity verification is complete.
Cashing out a position before it settles
Selling and withdrawing are separate steps. In the mobile app, “Cash Out” opens the sell flow: you sell the contracts to other traders at a price someone will pay, and the proceeds become cash you can then withdraw. The “current value” Kalshi shows is an estimate based on available bids and the selling fee; an order may fill fully, partly or not at all. Selling as a taker pays the trading fee explained in Kalshi fees.

Common questions
How long does it take to withdraw from Kalshi?+
Kalshi says debit-card withdrawals typically arrive within a few hours, crypto within about 30 minutes, and bank transfers within a few business days. A processor’s compliance review can hold a card payout for 3–5 business days.
Why can’t I withdraw my money from Kalshi?+
Usually because the money is not cash yet: it is in an open position, in a contract that has not settled, under a deposit hold, or promotional credit. Withdrawals also go only to accounts in your name, and your daily limit depends on your account.
Does Kalshi charge a withdrawal fee?+
No. Kalshi charges nothing to withdraw by debit card, bank transfer, PayPal, Venmo or crypto.
How do I cash out on Kalshi?+
Sell the position — in the app, Cash Out opens the sell flow — and the proceeds become cash. Then withdraw it from the Transfers tab. Selling and withdrawing are separate steps.
Can I withdraw from Kalshi with Cash App?+
No. Cash App can be used to deposit but not to withdraw; use a debit card, bank transfer, PayPal, Venmo or crypto instead.
