Is Kalshi publicly traded? Kalshi stock explained

No. Kalshi is a private company with no ticker and no public share price; its SEC filings are notices of private share sales. Here is who owns it, what it has raised, and why some funds’ “Kalshi” holdings are not a stock price.

Can you buy Kalshi stock?

No. Kalshi Inc., a Delaware corporation based in New York, has no ticker and no listing on EDGAR. Its seven SEC filings are Form D notices of private equity sales under Rule 506(b), all to accredited investors only, and there is no registration statement for a public offering (searched 26 October 2026). A US listing would need one, made public before any shares are sold.

The exchange itself is run by a separate company, KalshiEX LLC, which gives the same New York address in its SEC filings and which the CFTC designated as a contract market on 3 November 2020; trades clear through Kalshi Klear, an affiliate registered with the CFTC as a clearing house. In September 2026 KalshiEX LLC filed a Form 1 with the SEC — an application to register as a securities exchange. That is about what Kalshi could list, not an offering of Kalshi’s own shares.

Who owns Kalshi

Kalshi was founded in 2018 by Tarek Mansour and Luana Lopes Lara; both are directors, alongside others named in its Form D filings. Its other shareholders are private investors. The rounds Kalshi has announced itself:

Sources: Kalshi’s announcements of its Series A, Series C, Series D, Series E and Series F. The matching Form D notices report what had been sold when each was filed — for the latest, $1.12 billion to 71 investors — so their figures do not always equal the announced round.

Funds that report holding Kalshi

A few registered funds disclose Kalshi shares in their SEC filings. ARK Venture Fund reports Series E and Series F preferred shares, and Powerlaw Corp., which is listed on Nasdaq, reports an indirect holding through special-purpose vehicles. Their values are each fund’s own fair-value estimate, not a market price, and they differ from fund to fund, so none of them is a “Kalshi stock price”. Buying a fund buys its whole portfolio, not Kalshi. Nothing here is investment advice.

Is there a Kalshi token?

None of Kalshi’s pages that we read describes a token or coin of its own. What it does offer on-chain is tokenized versions of its event contracts on Solana, since December 2025, and crypto deposits and withdrawals. A tokenized contract is a position on an event, like any Kalshi contract — not a share in the company. Treat anything sold as a “Kalshi coin” as unofficial.

Common questions

Is Kalshi publicly traded?

No. Kalshi Inc. is a private Delaware company. Its SEC filings are Form D notices of private share sales to accredited investors, and EDGAR shows no registration statement for a public offering (searched 26 October 2026).

What is Kalshi’s stock symbol?

It has none, because Kalshi is not listed on any exchange. A fund filing that labels a holding “KALSHI” is using an internal identifier, not a ticker.

How much is Kalshi worth?

Will Kalshi IPO?

Who owns Kalshi?

Its co-founders Tarek Mansour and Luana Lopes Lara and private investors, including Sequoia Capital, Paradigm, Andreessen Horowitz and Coatue, which led or co-led its announced rounds.
