Are prediction markets legal in Montana?

Yes, for now. Montana twice ordered Kalshi to stop, calling its contracts illegal gambling, but in September 2026 agreed not to enforce against Kalshi until the Ninth Circuit finishes reviewing its Nevada ruling, then give 30 days’ notice. That agreement covers only Kalshi. Sports betting is legal only through the Montana Lottery.
